Creating an API key on Bittime

🔴 On Bittime, API keys can only be created on the desktop website. The app does not have this feature.

Don't look for it on your phone — it isn't there. Open the Bittime website on a computer and sign in.

TrendX uses this key to place orders for you. If the permissions are wrong, your strategy will start but never place a single order — this is the most common reason a strategy fails.

Step 1: Open the API page on the website

Sign in to the Bittime website on a computer, go to the API page in your account settings, and create a new API key.

Step 2: Tick these permissions (the most important step here)

Bittime groups its permissions. Go through them one by one — don't skip any:

PermissionWhat to do
All Service · Read-OnlyAlready ticked by default. Leave it on.
Futures · Orders and Positions✅ Tick it (placing futures orders and holding positions)
Futures · Account Transfer✅ Tick it (moving money between your futures and spot accounts)
Spot · Trade✅ Tick it (buying and selling on spot)
Wallet · Withdrawal🔴 Do not tick it (withdrawals — we never need this)

Leaving only the default read-only permission on and ticking nothing else is the mistake people make most.

Step 3: Fill in the IP field (the key won't work without it)

Bittime's IP access restrictions is already set to Only allow the following IP. Leave that box empty and the key won't work. Put this address in:

47.237.207.18

That's the TrendX server. There's also a Copy button on the TrendX binding screen so you don't have to type it.

Step 4: Save your API Key and Secret

Once created, Bittime shows you an API Key and a Secret Key. The Secret is usually shown only once — copy it right away, then paste both into the TrendX binding screen.

If something goes wrong

What you seeWhat it usually means
Binding said success, but the strategy stopped on its own straight away with zero tradesOnly read-only is on; Spot · Trade was never ticked. Binding only checks that we can read your account, so a read-only key binds successfully too — the problem only shows up when the strategy tries to place a real order
The log says your API key lacks permission, or No open trading privilegesSame thing. Go back to Bittime and turn the trading permissions on
It simply won't bindThe IP box is empty, or it doesn't say 47.237.207.18
Spot works but futures strategies can't place ordersOne of the two Futures permissions is missing (Orders and Positions / Account Transfer)
You can't find where to create an API key in the appBittime only supports this on the website — the app doesn't have it

The safety line: never tick Wallet · Withdrawal. Even if someone gets hold of your key,

without withdrawal permission they cannot move your money. Never send your Secret to anyone —

and we will never ask you for it.
