Back and forth is not the same as straight down

The same method, a different market, a completely different outcome. This is probably the most basic thing in automated trading, and the most often skipped.

Two kinds of market

In one, price moves around inside a range: up a bit, down a bit, back up again. In the other, it heads one way: down and down, or up and up, barely turning back.

Most of the time the market is in the first state. But when the second one arrives, it does real damage.

Two kinds of method

Some methods live off the back and forth: buy a little on a dip, sell a little on a rise, take small ones each trip. What they fear is price heading straight down — they keep buying, and buying, until everything is in and stuck.

Others buy in pieces on the way down and sell the whole round when it comes back. Small dips don't frighten them. What does is a fall that never returns.

So the two fear different things. Which makes "what kind of market is this" a question that comes before "which method should I use".

You don't have to judge the market yourself

The good news is this doesn't require learning to read charts.

The system looks at how the coin has been moving and gives you a plain answer: going back and forth, drifting one way, or heading one way outright. You see it before you start.

When it says heading one way outright, the best move is usually not to move.

The market won't always cooperate with you. Someone who can tell when it isn't will go further than someone who knows ten methods.

If you want to try it, the app is there. If you don't, that's fine too — none of the above depends on using us.

Before you start
